Yet again I seem to have awakened at 6 am today, not by choice of course. My body just does not see the desire in sleeping in. However I am not alone in this problem, the majority of other students wake up quite early as well. I suppose this wouldn’t be a problem, because you’d think that because I am up early I would wander about the city and the temperature would be lower. That is false. Not the wandering ( that is nice) but how hot and how quick it gets even hotter. I feel like I am constantly sweating through my clothes, gross I know, but true
Plethora of Signs on my 6am morning walks
In my dance class we got the metal fingernails for the Thai Fingernail dance and tomorrow (well today for me) in class we are going to try wearing the skirt while we dance. Our teacher is slowly getting us to wear them costume, step by step. She plans to teach us how to put on each piece on at a time. I think I am getting better at the dance, although once we come back from the lunch break and pick up right away it takes me a little time to get back into the grove of the moves. We are also going on a field trip to a dance performance on June 14, the day before we go on the excursion to Sukhothai.
I swear we are much more active in this dance class, we are just getting the music set up!
After class we decided to find the office to get out ID cards. I suppose it probably would have been a good thing to ask for directions, or to at least know the name of the building… but anyway we had a nice scenic walk through campus which we don’t get to see because our class is far away.
For dinner my roommate and some other girls decided to go to the actual mall. We ate a Thai food court, which was incredible because everything was so fresh and I even tried octopus and fried pork skin with Bubble Tea. I never heard of bubble tea but everyone said if you go to Thailand you need to try it and I can check it off my list. It was very, very sweet! I think I might stick to the fresh smoothies; I am dying to try a dragon fruit one! For dinner I tried some type of dry noodles with octopus and fried pork skin with a little Chile spice and it was incredible!! It was my favorite by far. But finding sunscreen here is very hard! There are plenty of skin bleaching products because I guess Thai people love white and pale skin so the opposite of what we want; which is tan of course. Well you know the saying, you always want what you can’t have.
My first bubble tea and a new favorite dish (so far) even with the octopus and fried pork skin!
